Hiring the right HandyService can make all the difference in a project.
Who to call, are they experienced, are they quick and reliable;
are many of the questions you may have.

Our service has built slowly over the years, mostly thru word-of-mouth advertising. Thanks for your cooperation and support !!
It was strictly part time, now that we no longer are managing multiple rental units, we will apply our time here.

I have a little time available and would be glad to give you a hand on Your project.
To give you just a little background on myself, I'm a semi-retired ex-remodeling contractor. I moved here directly from the Robe Valley/Verlot area where I spent some time hosting campsites in Gold Basin as an employee of the concessionaire who handles this for our Forest Service-somewhat similar to our own Rangers here, but also handled the money/clients as well.
As for the construction related, I did hold a remodeling liscence for a few years in Little Rock- Arkansas, but the heat was just killing me & I soom discovered this fantastic Pacific Northwest...& Love it !
For about a decade I managed some rental property in the UW area of Seattle, where I filled in as a remodel/painter/mini re-decorator for landlords and the few property owners who still live in single family homes in that immediate area- I have spent over 15 years doing a varity of high-end repaints/re-models for a relocation specialist connected with Windemere Reality & have tackled projects on the eastside of lake Washington for many of her microsoft clients,as well as some historical restoration work on old family properties in the Long Beach area of Washington State-
NO-this does not mean I would want an arm and a leg so-to-speak for my labor/time, but I will charge a fair market price for my muli-talented skills

Your Deck

Decks provide beauty and increased value to any home -- not to mention an ideal space for entertaining and relaxing. Our decks offer an easy, attractive and cost-effective solution. They connect indoor space to the outdoors, integrate home and landscape, make use of damp or rough terrain and even add an element of class and craftsmanship to the home, planters work well when set into a deck, or it may be a good place to attach a gazebo. Soon it will be Time to move out the patio furniture and get ready to enjoy the great outdoors!
Preparing your deck for spring will protect your investment in it and enhance the enjoyment of your outdoor living space. But, before you do, make sure you clean, restore and protect your deck so you can get the most out of it during the spring and summer months ahead.

Planning Your Outdoor Living Room

Clean, restore, and protect your deck, here are some deck prep tips:
Proper maintenance practices for decks include allowing proper water drainage; sweeping the surface to remove loose dirt, embedded dirt, fungus stains and gray surface wood, leaves, pine-needles and other debris; and moving planters, benches and other deck accessories from time to time to permit the deck to dry thoroughly.Depending on the finish used and the climate, a deck may need cleaning and refinishing every two to five years. Strip any deteriorating or unwanted finish. If the colored stain on your deck has seen better days – or if you want a different look – now is the time to strip your deck’s finish. Once the wood is restored and your deck is rid of any surface barriers or unwanted finishes, it should be sealed with a protective water repellent finish. You may want to apply a semi-transparent stain to enhance your deck’s appeal, or a transparent finish to let the natural wood color and texture show through. if you are undecided on whether or not to stain – or on the deck color – it’s important, at minimum, to protect it with a clear water repellent. Water repellents stop spring showers from penetrating the wood surface, which can cause swelling, shrinking, warping and cracking. Many water repellents, including products like Wolman's RainCoat, also contain a mildewcide that will impede the growth of mildew on your deck during the warm months ahead. Look for products like Wolman RainCoat, that offer a guarantee on water-repellent longevity, as they will provide longer lasting protection so you won’t have to apply a new coat every year.
Even newly built decks can require cleaning to remove invisible surface barriers like mill glaze on new Cedar or excess wax on pressure-treated wood. These invisible barriers can prevent the adhesion of protective coatings, including colored stains and clear sealers. Apply a protective finish soon after deck construction to prevent surface degradation. Water-repellant preservatives and semi-transparent stains are the best choices to capture and retain the beauty of the wood.
